Graduation, Photographers, and Cookies. A Memoir. Sorta.

You might not know this, but my youngest graduated from high school in June!!! YAY!!!

How can someone so small grow up to be a high school graduate? It seems like just yesterday she was throwing a tantrum in her sweet little church dress or bonking her brother on the head with her plastic guitar.

Because we’re readers, it seemed fitting to incorporate cookies into her party. Books, I mean we incorporated books into the party theme: She’s One Smart Cookie! That allowed me to go through her collection and lay out books that she’s enjoyed over the years.

Would you like to take a look?

I think the photos turned out beautiful! Having a photographer at the house captured memories that I’ll cherish forever. The photographer was Sheri Luckey of Moments by Sheri.  Contact her on Twitter, email ([email protected]) or phone ( 267-277-3407).

I got to have all of my fave things on one day: sweets, family, and books!

Tea with Santa at Towne Book Center

Not long ago we had the pleasure of hosting a tea party for SANTA!!

TeawithSanta Collage

It was so much fun: we made picture frame crafts, played “Guess That Holiday Tune”, and stuck the 12 Days of Christmas on the tree.

The best surprise of all was when Santa arrived!

The kids didn’t make a peep while he read Twas the Night Before Christmas“!

I even got my picture taken with Santa!

Do you take your holiday photos with Santa?

How The Grinch Stole Christmas Tea Party

We recently hosted a Grinch Tea Party to celebrate Small Business Saturday. The party was so much fun that I forgot to take photos of the kids making their crafts and playing games! Author Kit Grindstaff read How the Grinch Stole Christmas to the little partygoers.  Here’s a collage of some of the revelry.

And of course, we had a visit from The Grinch!

Bookish Tea Party Fun: Mother’s Day

I’ve had the pleasure of celebrating two Mother’s Days this year! Each time I was able to host a Mother’s Day tea party for others. It’s very rewarding to be able to bring a smile to someone’s face!  On Mother’s Day, we hosted a tea at the historic Brinton Lodge, on the banks of the historic Schuykill River, where the likes of William Penn, Benny Goodman, Elizabeth Taylor, and Frank Sinatra are rumored to have walked.

What beautiful weather we had for our party.

We played games, took a tour of the historic (and possibly haunted) house, and ate until our faces came off. hahaha Not really. That was just me. So much for my diet.

We are thinking our next party might be a Great Gatsby party…what do you think?
