The Summer My Life Began – a Video Review

ByPam

I recently had the opportunity to enjoy a fun summer read: The Summer My Life Began, a YA title by Shannon Greenland.  The book has all the appeal of the Traveling Pants series including summer romances, personal growth, and some good old tears.  Who doesn’t love THAT combination?

The tale takes place in the Outer Banks, a place I’ve never been but have heard much about.  The novel’s setting is tropical and made me want to don my swimsuit and lay under an umbrella and relax.

So that’s exactly what I did for my review.

I hope you enjoy it.

The Summer My Life Began is a book that I look forward to sharing with Pumpkin, who is 15 and also likes the sun and sand. While enjoyable, you know I only have one complaint: needs multiculturalism SOMEWHERE; surely people of other ethnicities go to OBX?  Kudos to the author, however, for not assigning any minorities as housekeepers and left that point unclear; possibly on purpose? Aside from the obvious, however, I liked it!

I give this book 4 paws.
