Dive into Diversity

Wildfire Mary Pauline Lowry

Mar 9, 2015 ,

I love when I find an author who writes strong female characters. Who doesn’t love strong girls who follow their minds, don’t let anyone boss them around and have their own adventures? That’s why I love me some Mary Pauline Lowry.  Our shared hometown of Austin and our love of grrrl power makes us kindred spirits.

Mary’s latest book is Wildfire and I loved it so much I made a video. Check it out.

What you won’t find in Mary’s books are dainty little girly girls who sit around and wait to be told what to do.

Kinda like us, no?

What do you think? A female firefighter? Need more of those, right??

My passion is advocating for diversity in children's and YA literature.

  1. Thank heaven for girls who know what they want and go get it. I’m with you on loving strong female characters. They make for very exciting reading because they usually attract strong male characters, and the reader can’t wait to see how they work things out.

  2. That’s a really great idea. Yay for strong female characters! 🙂

Blogging A-Z Participant, looking forward to seeing you in April!
