Tween Book Club: The Name of This Book is Secret

The Name of This Book is Secret

The Name of This Book is Secret

The Name of This Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch has been on my TBR list since it’s release. When the kiddos would come to the bookstore and ask me to help them find a book and I’d ask them which book and they’d say the Name of this book is secret. Which, if you know kids, isn’t all that unusual. Sometimes kids get uncomfortable when asking for a book title and don’t want to tell you the title.  Weird, but it happens. When a child said this to me I responded: Well if you have to tell me the title or something so I can help you! To which the child would answer: THAT’S the name of the book: THE NAME OF THIS BOOK IS SECRET! And we would have a chuckle and look for it.

Imagine my delight when my Tweenies chose this as their June book club pick. I carried the book with me to Texas this weekend. I love how clever the storytelling is, warning you that he is an unreliable storyteller and that you might not want to keep reading and that some of the information has been left out to protect you the reader. Too fun.

Kids who love Lemony Snicket will enjoy this series. Two unlikely kids become collaborators as they attempt to solve a hidden (and quite dangerous) mysterious secret.

I chuckled out loud. On the plane. In my seat.

I’m hooked on this series!

Perfect if you love the sillies.

And the slightly mysterious and dangerous.
