I’m so glad there are more resources available about bullying! I love the opening illustration of the book: it’s a giant bull picking on a kid. Right to the point.

The rest of the book contains facts and figures, which a middle grade child/tween might feel empowered that to know that they are not alone if they’re being bullied.  The book then gives examples of what constitutes as bullying:

  • Hurtful words said on purpose
  • Gossip
  • Lying
  • Excluding someone

The next few chapters offer truths and counter false truths to educate. It lists famous people who were bullied, and explains the roles of bullying to help readers see if they, too perhaps participated in bullying.

It’s quite eye opening. And finally, the book gives concrete methods to stand up to bullying of all kinds.

It’s an excellent resource. Older kids might find it a teeny bit corny but early elementary up to middle grade will certainly understand and be able to find tools to help themselves.

Did I mention I love this book?
