Librarian in the Kitchen; Food Network’s How To Get The Kids Involved in Thanksgiving

ByPam

I don’t talk about food much but let’s be honest; I eat food. Mostly coffee, but since cookbooks are books, I’m never too far from a cookbook.

Cookbooks are books too!

I always dig out my cookbooks during the holidays, especially the one handed down to me from my Aunt.  The best part about cooking for the holidays is having the little ones help you in the kitchen.

But what can little fingers do to help in the kitchen?

Plenty.

Food Network has a few tips for getting the littles in on the holiday cooking. It’s called:

Tasks for Young Chefs on Thanksgiving

How yummy do those mashed potatoes look? What I love about these tips from Food Network is that they break the tasks down by age group so even the littlest of little can feel involved in something other than setting the table and putting food in the trash (both important tasks but you know what I mean).

If pie is your thing, and who doesn’t like pie? Then check out this apple pie with cheddar cheese crust.

Click the picture for the recipe or click here. As a side note, we’re lactose intolerant at the address so there’ll be no cheese in our crust but oh how I WISH I could eat cheese! Doesn’t that look yummy?

So look through the Food Network recipes and let me know how your little ones help with Thanks giving dinner!
