Book Blogger Blogs

ByPam

Ever wonder what other book bloggers read while online? Ever wonder what librarians (including yours truly) read when they’re not blogging, reviewing, reading, writing, drinking coffee, etc.?

The read other blogs, of course!

Here are a few I like:

Someday my Printz will come.  You have to be a subscribing member of School Library Journal (SLJ), tho, sorry.  This blogger is referring to books from the  Michael L. Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature. If nothing else, you should check out the nominated and winning books.

Adult Books 4 Teens suggests adult books that teens might like. I know when I was a teen I was always poking around my mother’s books looking for something a little more than what I was currently reading. Again, this blog is only available through SLJ.

Good Comics for Kids discusses the graphic novels that may appeal to kids.  I think graphic novels are a great way to appeal to kids who might not otherwise read: low readers, bilingual, etc.

If you’re interested in the life of a real live NY library librarian (and who isn’t?) A Fuse #8 Production is a read for you. She blogs about books, release parties and other behind the scene happenings that someone like me can only dream of.

As I strive for self improvement in the ’12 I will be reading this blog closely: A Chair, A Fireplace & A Tea Cozy which will be a good place for me to chat with other book bloggers and see how things work in their world.

And finally, NeverEndingSearch by Joyce Valenza.  Dr. Valenza makes my list for NUMEROUS reasons. First, because she was an invaluable resource during my MLIS studies at Drexel.  Second, because she has inspired me to combine my love of education, literature, children, and technology.  She is a PIONEER in this field.  She shows us that’s it’s OK to be a tech geek.  Need inspiration? Follow her.  Need direction? Follow her.  A classmate/friend was even able to intern with her; how cool is that?

What blogs do you read?
