I’ve really enjoyed sharing fun books with the kids from my Tween book club (aka Tweeies) at Towne Book Center & Cafe, where I work. This month was no exception. We decided to read a book from the Ranger’s Apprentice series by John Flanagan, Book 1: The Ruins of Gorlan. As if the book itself isn’t fun enough, the author, John Flanagan made a bookstore appearance and many of my tweenies got to meet him in person!
John Flanagan is a hoot and I laughed all night at his funny jokes and silly stories. Who would have guessed from the seriousness of his books that he’d be a riot.
I tried dressing up as a Ranger for my review, but as you can see, I do not look good in a hooded cape.
Oh well, not going to let that keep me from enjoying the book. Here’s my video review!
I give the series 4 paws for tackling bullying issues, as well.
Check out The Ranger’s Apprentice website for fun activities: rangersapprentice.com. There are lots of fun things to do and now I’m an official Ranger! Have you read any in the series? What did you think?
And now for the surprise…
We’re giving away a signed copy of Book 12 in the series: Royal Ranger, WOOOOOT!!!
