The Blue Songbird by Vern Kousky

The Blue Songbird by Vern Kousky

This is such a beautiful book! The text is beautifully sweet and the illustrations are perfectly soft and dreamy. And you know how I love opening lines:

“Once, there lived a blue songbird.”

I already loved it.

As the sweet little bird searches for her own song, she meets new friends along the way and discovers something she already had: her own special song.

A journey of self discovery that even the littlest of littles will enjoy. I could see so many teachers incorporating this into lessons.

Be Your Own Shero. At Christmas and Always

I love it when friends inspire me by writing books for me! Books with strong female characters especially move to the top of my reading list. That’s why I want to remind you to support indie authors; these people are taking charge of their lives and being their own (s)heros.  My fave Shero’s journey is from my friend Nicole Cutts.
