Self Published Authors Wanted!

Self Published Authors Wanted!

Are  you a self published author? Have you written a great book, novel, short story, novella, or picture book and want to tell the world about it?

Need social media exposure?  Need an alternative to a blog tour? Just want to try something new?  Here’s your answer:

Buy an ad spot on An Unconventional Librarian.

Why?  As a blogger and a book seller I understand the importance of getting the right book into the hands of a reader. Readers can’t buy your book if they don’t know it exists! So the question is, if readers don’t see your book in a bookstore where can they see it?

The answer is: on a blog just like this!  More and more readers trust book bloggers as a source of finding their next great read. They like us and as a result trust our judgement based on shared interests.  It’s kind of like the alliance Katniss and Peeta form with other champions in the Quarter Quell, without the menacing monkeys.  Readers who come to An Unconventional Librarian like middle grade, Young Adult, and children’s books.

Buy an ad spot on An Unconventional Librarian’s site and get easy additional exposure to potential readers. Choose your weapon below to help fight off President Snow and get noticed by future readers and friends.

Books have a life of their own on YouTube

I stumbled across this piece from Entertainment Weekly which reminded me of Toy Story.  Everyone wonders what toys do when their owners are not around, right? They come to life and lead fascinating lives with interesting adventures. The video below is similar only it involves books.

What do books in a bookstore do when the lights are out?

Here’s a similar video that  involves organizing your bookshelf.

if only it were that easy, right?

And most importantly, visit an independent retailer.

Support a local business. Here’s my favorite, Towne Book Center & Cafe

And this weekend I’m excited to be visiting Harvest Book Company!

Do you have a video about books (or puppies or cats or babies) to share?

Book Lover’s Paradise

This weekend I had the pleasure of helping my favorite book store, Trappe Book Center, pack up and move to their new location!  As a book club member, we were allowed to volunteer to help, which I think is pretty neat.

I was especially thrilled to find out that I was needed in the NEW location to help unpack and alphabetize.  I found this to be a good use of my time, I got to nose around the new digs, AND (bonus) I got to spend some time with a club member’s little boy as he helped me unpack and put things in ABC order! YAY me!

So starting tomorrow I will be found at the new If you get a chance stop by and see me them.

They are located at

Providence Town Center
220 Plaza Drive
suite B-3
Collegeville, PA 19426
