A Tea Party Featuring Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew

One day we had the privilege of hosting a tea party for a girl who loved Nancy Drew. We took the colors of the book, incorporated tea pots and a scavenger hunt into the party and it was great fun!

If you look closely at the photo you’ll see a small round object in the box. That was a tea pot that the partygoers had to make during the craft portion of the party. Leah and I made a video showing how to make this teapot except we added a twist. We decided to race to see who could finish first.

What did you think? I think they both look pretty nice, right? What crafts have  you used from Oriental Trading Company?

How to Make Tea Party Crafts with Oriental Trading Company

As you know, when I’m not reading books, I’m hosting tea parties with my friend, Leah. Every good tea party MUST have a craft, next to tea, it’s the best part of a party!

We’ve hosted many parties and always turn to Oriental Trading Company to order the best crafts. Recently I realized that when I post photos of the parties, I always show the finished craft. I thought “Why don’t I make a video to show you just how easy it is to make a craft from Oriental Trading Company!”

With that in mind, I gathered some supplies, asked my friend Leah to help, and we made a series of how-to videos. Over the next few weeks, I’ll share more videos with you. Here’s the first:

Bookish Tea Party Fun: Fancy Nancy Games!

During our bookish tea parties, we play games! Nothing is cuter than seeing a gaggle of beribboned and bedazzled little princesses (and sometimes pirates) running around the bookstore on a scavenger hunt.  Here are some fun games we played recently.
findthebutterfly.jpg
Leah is super tricky as she hides the butterfly under the cups and then shuffles the cups around.  The party goers have to decide what cup is the right one.

SCORE!! The partygoer (BIRTHDAY GIRL) chooses the right cup!
Next is our famous scavenger hunt. Can you find the missing clothes for Fancy Nancy’s recital?

Where could it be???
You know what the extra fun bit about this game is? Whenever there are customers looking at books near these shelves, they instantly want to help the partygoers find the missing items. It’s SO cute!
What party games do you like to play with your guests aged approx 5-9?
