Potty Training, Giggles, and fun: Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi

Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi

Kids love tales of grossness and bodily fluids (gag) and here’s the perfect book for them.

An elephant makes a big poop

A mouse makes a tiny poop

and so the book describes various animals and where they poop

even the little boy.

Parent’s it’s not for the squeamish, but it might help a child who is potty training

and it’s true…

everyone poops!

A multicultural delight!!

I give it four paws

p.s. don’t read this near mealtime

p.p.s Let’s count this toward our Diversity Reading Challenge for the littles!

Books Children

kids are unpredictable

So here’s what I thought was ironic.  Last week I planned to read the delightful Everyone Poops to my kids.  I read it and they were enraptured by the poop talk, especially my two potty mouths.  But the funny thing was, they kept denying that some animals poop.

Like they’re experts!

The book says “birds poop”

my kids laughed and said “birds don’t poop!”

The book says “bugs poop”

my kids laughed even harder and said “bugs don’t poop”!

I kept insisting that, indeed, birds and bugs do poop, but how was I gonna prove it to them? where was i gonna find bird and bug poop? that would have make a great science experiment, but ick, bird poop?
