I love love love NatGeoKids books! I KNOW I sound like a broken record but I can’t help it! They have such great information, beautiful photographs that you HAVE to love them. I even love to watch their TV channel, that is, when I get a bit of TV watching time. (smile)
NatGeo Kids has a set of leveled readers that feature famous people and tell their history. This one is about George Washington Carver. It’s a level 1 reader and is PERFECT for the emerging reader. There are plenty of illustrations and drawings, the font size is large, there are tips to help pronounce the words, and the vocabulary is repetitive so that kids can learn the word and practice using it often.
It’s a win-win situation.
Did you know that George Washington Carver was born a slave?
Yep, so much to learn. Thanks to Carver the peanut has become very helpful to our economy.
Your littles can be a super reader too, thanks to Nat Geo Kids!
This book can count toward the Diversity Reading Challenge. YAY!
