F is for Feelings
I LOVE THIS BOOK!! You know how some littles just love ABC books? Well here’s one that’s right for everyone! Why? Because it’s the ABC book of feelings. For the kiddos who can’t read the expressive and MULTICULTURAL illustrations detail exactly what each feeling means.
For example: L is for Lonely. There’s an illustration of a boy sitting off to the side while other children play near by. He’s on his own and feels left out. Great starting point for discussion there, right? Have you ever felt lonely? What can you do to fix it? Have you ever not included someone and seen them feel lonely? How can you fix that?
Q is for Quiet. I need some time all to myself. Who doesn’t? And for the kids who don’t need that time, they’ll know what it looks like and learn how to respond to someone who does need it.
Etc. all the way through the alphabet. The end of the book includes an appendix of sorts that guides teachers and caregivers in ways to explore feelings and teach empathy.
