You know how I love making new friends, right? Well that’s what’s so fabulous about the interwebs AND the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. You meet so many new people you never know what to expect next! Â So here’s the thing: I was doing what I do and next thing you know, I found myself in the possession of and reading:
The Caretaker of Imagination by ZR Southcombe
See the cover? Two of my fave things: Pirates and Cake. If you’ve been around here long you’ll know I love pirates! I have even hosted a pirate party or two (or 3). yarrr!! So anyway, the Caretaker of Imagination is not a long book. But it’s long on spirit. If you’ve ever wondered if grown ups get sad and wanna go on adventures, here’s your answer! Not only do grown ups want to go on adventures, they want to meet pirates, have tea parties, ride dragons, and sit and have story time with cute little woodland creatures. Â Our hero is John, a grown up who’s bored with life and longs for more out of life; an adventure. He discovers adventure and friends and also his imagination! Along the way he meets a very nice pirate (but don’t tell anyone the pirate is nice) who helps him along on his journey. I can’t tell you anymore for fear of spoilers but I can say that if I had cannons on my pirate ship, I, too, would fill them with cupcakes! This is a sweet tale for younger middle graders to be read to or older middle graders who can read alone. You can find the author, ZR Southcombe here. Pop in, pick up a book or two, and tell her Pammy Pam sent you! Also, grab me a cupcake will ya? Â
