Welcome to the Blogging from A to Z Theme Reveal Party!

Today is the day we announce what our theme is for the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge.

Theme Reveal

My theme?

Every book I will highlight will have a diverse or multicultural hero as a main or first tier supporting role.

The additional punch?

Look closer at the pic.

Look at the books.

Can you guess?

They are books for kids!

Mostly middle grade if I can find them.

Wish me luck.

What’s your theme?

Tell me and leave a link so I can visit!

Don’t have a theme? That’s ok too!

Click this link if you have FINALLY decided to do the April Challenge!

  1. Good luck with your theme, sounds like a most difficult one given some of the trickier letters of the alphabet. I know I had to resort to Google to find a couple of mine :). Diversity is a great choice.

  2. Excellent. I look forward to getting some good ideas to share with the grandgirls. Meanwhile, as a family historian, I’ll be writing brief bios of family and friends who attended my grandparents’ funerals. Now that I’m actually saying this, I realize how weird it sounds.

  3. Should be a great theme, thank you for sharing and with cute photo!

There’s no earthly way of knowing.
    Which direction we are going!

  4. Oh how cool! I will definitely be back. I teach culture studies, and I focus a lot on diversity in books and media. I love your theme 🙂

  5. This will be fantastic! Looking forward to writing down a lot of recommendations. 🙂

My theme is actually similar, but narrower. (Why I thought that would be easier… Search me.) It’s LGBT+ characters in comic books. 🙂

  6. There have been quite a few diverse kids’ books lately, so you should be able to find most of the letters.

  7. Ahh I love this theme! Really looking forward to see what you come up with. I’m doing a college theme, since I hardly ever write about being a college student despite it taking up the majority of my non-sleep and non-blog time!

  8. Ah, love the theme! I’ll sure be back in April to read your entries. Can’t wait ^_^

  9. I’ll be looking forward to your theme. It’s so important for youth literature to have diverse casts of characters, instead of the same old whitewashed folks over and over again. I actually prefer MG to YA, since it just seems so much more diverse and rich.

  10. Like your theme and look forward to learning more. Mostly interested in young adult if you can find them.
My theme is Inventions by Women

  11. Now that’s a real cool theme. I haven;t seen that one yet. It’s great to have a unique theme. Good luck with everything!

  12. Since anything multi-cultural is what my entire career has been based on, this theme of diversity is perfect.

  13. Thanks for visiting my blog (A Bench with a View) and your comment. Our sweet Koda was our sweet corgi who succumbed to cancer back in December 2014. He had been in remission from it for four years, but then it came back 🙁

Your theme sounds so interesting! Diversity can be an interesting topic to write about! Good luck with it!

  14. Hi Pam,
I love your theme and am looking forward to seeing the books you choose as you move through the alphabet. Have fun!
I’m blogging about books which celebrate diversity around the word – mostly picture books.

  15. Great theme, Diversity! And it will be fun to discover the books that highlight such an important topic for today’s youth. What a wonderful world we are headed for with minds being shaped by stories filled with diversity and acceptance! I’ll look forward to seeing your posts. Hope to see you as we travel ’round the A-Z track!

    1. Hi Michele, happy travels and thanks for visiting!

  16. Excellent theme! I make the most of every opportunity to encourage young writers and readers. I look forward to your choices!

  17. this is a unique idea, I think! If I had a middle schooler I’d be taking your A to Z list down to the public library and checking out summer reading. 😉

  18. Diversity in literature is a topic near and dear to my heart. My work is very multicultural because of my passion for diversity. I can always learn more however and I can’t wait to visit your blog during the A to Z challenge to do just that.

  19. Awesome theme!
I’m trying to get more diverse books in my BooksYALove recommendations, too. Gotta love what Tu Books (Lee & Low Books) publishes, among other smaller presses.

It’ll be great April AtoZing with you!

  20. What a fun theme you picked… can’t wait to read about each of the songs you post about!

I’m, The Chinese Quest, is participating in our first #AtoZChallenge. I hope you like Chinese food and will want to come and check us out. The best thing is that an hour later you’ll want to come back and read another article!! 😉
