What’s the big idea?
Some people think these books are bad for kids to read and they decide to challenge or ban them.
IÂ think the right to read belongs to the caregiver of each child.
I’ll be counting down the Top 10 challenged/banned books of 2014-2015.
10. Â Â Drama, by Raina Telgemeier
 
Drama is a graphic novel (double points for that!!) and was challenged because it was sexually explicit.
9. Â A Stolen Life, Jaycee Dugard
A Stolen Life is the real life story of young Jaycee Dugard who was kidnapped when she was a child.
Amazingly, she turned up ALIVE (!!!!) 18 years later. Â How anything about this poor child’s like can be banned is beyond
me. Reasons:drugs/alcohol/smoking, offensive language, sexually explicit, and unsuited for age group
What age group are you giving this to? Five-year-olds? Kids need to read this story!
