I AM BLACK HISTORY MONTH

It’s Black History Month

Please watch my video and then come back here for more.

Because Black History Month includes women and children I thought it would be fun to share a fave book or photo of a woman who has been part of history. She can be a modern or historical figure. Heckfire, she can even be yourself!

Women are part of Black History and have played tremendous, although often unrepresented, roles.

Now’s the time to speak up and tell Her Story.

Tell me why you’ve chosen this woman to represent Black Herstory.
I’ll still share Black History Month books, but on MWF.
On T/TH I’ll share Herstory.
If I find enough books about women, I’ll share them EVERY DING DANG DAY.

I just put a beautiful-looking picture book bio of Bessie Coleman, pioneering aviatrix, on display at my kids’ school. I want to read it myself! Brown Girl Dreaming, a personal favorite, is up there too.
