I’m always looking for books with illustrations of children who are multicultural. That’s why I love Nancy Viau’s latest book, Storm Song. Nancy is a local author who writes great books for kids who look just like you and me. I’m especially fond of Samantha Hansen has Rocks in Her Head: think Piper Reed meets Junie B Jones; a fun loving girl who doesn’t always do the right thing (and who can’t relate to that??)!
Nancy has also written Look What I Can Do! Another title I love, because it empowers the littles to be proud of the things they CAN do!
There are so many things to love about Storm Song: the illustrations depict ethnically ambivalent children, which is a plus, AND the text reads just like the sounds heard in a thunderstorm:
Boom. Boom. Bang!
Rumble, rap,
ROAR!
Isn’t that delightful?
Children will all ages will love to hear this story again and again. In fact, I love it SO much, I’m offering a signed copy just for you!

I love the sound of this book. I’m not a big fan of thunderstorms, personally. So, I usually listen to music and get on the computer. Haha!
Sounds like a great book!
Sounds like abook that would have been a great fit in our homeschool library when the boys were young.
Another one my boys will love!!!
I’m always delighted with authors of children’s books. I believe they are the most creative writers.
