If you’re child likes adventure but is not quite ready for witches and wizards, try these adventurous titles:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, is a series both tween boys and girls can enjoy. Additional series by Riordan include Heros of Olympus, Kane Chronicles, and The 39 Clues.
Need more ? How about Ridley Pearson’s Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark. Adventures in the the Happiest Place on Earth!
WAIT!! That’s not five books, that’s SEVEN!!
I know, gave you two extra.
I’ll have more gift suggestions later, stop back!

Those are all excellent suggestions – Princess Nagger would approve! 😉

Thanks to both y’all!
Great suggestions! I’ll add them to my list.
The Heroes of Mount Olympus reminded me of a short series that my oldest read when he was younger. It was based on Greek myths, but I can’t remember the name. Maybe 2 or 3 books. I’ll have to ask him and see if he remembers.
Charlie Bones is another good series though a little dark.
We are big percey and red prymid fans. He never got into the 39 clues. I have to looking to the kingdom keepers. He does not like dark or gorry. So he was not into harry potter. He is reverting to younger books like the warriors instead of moving forward I am thinking argon.. thoughts Pam?
Sherry maybe the Magic Tree House series might be the way to go for him if he likes the younger series without all the darkness. or maybe sports? Dan Gutman and Mike Lupica make some good stories…
