My New Satellite Office

I guess I’m like most bloggers: I blog from my home office. To be sure, I have a dedicated space, but since mine is in the basement, I get lonely(and cold) and often move around the house with my lappytop. I’m sure many bloggers blog from satellite offices, locations outside their home; most likely coffee shops or something? I dream of doing that at Starbucks but I tend to get distracted by all the comings and goings there, so I haven’t yet.

Anyway, my fave bookstore moved this weekend and I had the opportunity to help! I love the idea of being able to blog in my fave bookstore, which will even serve coffee! I’ve even demanded that they provide me with my own dedicated table and chair, so we’ll see how that works out.  I visited my new future satellite office this morning in hopes of being their FIRST OFFICIAL CUSTOMER. And I was!!!! Today, at least. Whatever.

They didn’t have the WIFI set up so I couldn’t blog, but I did manage to sneak a few pics in of the shelves that I helped unpack.

Here’s the cooking section that I singlehandedly alphabetized.

I did all the work. They just prettied it up.

Who knew there were that many cookbooks in the world?

Next, I did the Young Adult Section as seen here

and here

see all those Matt Christopher books?

I also unpacked all the Child Development books

it was difficult not to stop and read all the child rearing books…

Do you wanna know what the best part of helping the book store move is? Each day I got to spend some time with a child. Today I was fortunate to get to read 3 or 4 books to a little girl who belonged to one of the employees. We read Handy Manny, Go Diego Go, and a bunch of other books. I miss those days of reading to my little ones, so I’ll take what I can get! YAY ME!!

Did you do anything book related fun this weekend?

Tell me?

Nice job! I love independent bookstores. You gain a better relationship and have a great experience browsing/buying.

My office is mobile, sometimes it is my bed, my computer desk, the couch, the library, the train. One day I want to transform the basement into a cool office.
