About

I am a Bear of Very Little Brain, and long words Bother me. ~Winnie the Pooh

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog.  Pull up a chair,  here’s a cup of coffee.  Tell me about a book you love.

I  love books. Especially children and young adult books! I have a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, but my specialty is resources for kids of all ages.

What makes my blog different from some others is that I look at books from a multicultural perspective.  Books need to represent our society: African American, Asian American,  Hispanic American, etc.  Books should also be considerate of those with special needs or sexual preferences. It is only natural that a reader should want to read a book about someone who is like them. I feel that many popular books still ignore these populations.

Within this blog you’ll also find educational resources, activities, songs and any other tidbits I have curated from the world.

As an educator librarian I am drawn to the little ones.  They are so funny, loving, and truthful.  Who else will tell you they love you and think you’re pretty and love the way you sing (off key)?

Three things you will always find me with are: a cuppa coffee, a book, and my iPhone for tweeting, Facebooking, etc. I love social media and I love to share and stay connected. I am an information specialist, maven, connector.

I collect children’s books and pretty dishes, I love to listen to music, I love thrifting, and I think being a little silly never hurts.

Let’s go on a journey with a book, shall we?
