As you know, I love kids’ books. I also love books about animals. A perfect combination is a book for kids about animals! Know what’s even more perfect? Animals who talk and have feelings. I love it. Can’t get enough of it.
So I was thrilled when my bestie Emlyn Chand of Novel Publicity begged asked me to review her kids’ book Honey the Hero. Honey is a little birdie who wants to be a superhero. What’s not to love about that? Here’s what the buzz is saying:
Let me tell you about Honey. She’s a curious little parakeet living in the Australian Outback. One day she happens upon a family watching a show about a superhero on a great big TV screen. Since she can already fly, all she needs to do is create a costume to conceal her true identity—bammo—now she’s a superhero too!
Well, let’s just say, her first attempts at saving the day go horribly wrong. Disheartened, the poor baby bird decides to give up on her dream. But, uh-oh, now someone actually needs Honey’s help. Can she pull it together and save the day at last?
Kids and superhero wanting to be parents can relate to Honey’s desire to help. Honey’s ego is as tall as the trees and her heart is as big as the ocean and this book is as good as something real good. Like chocolate covered bacon; prolly.
I had so much fun reading Honey the Hero, I wanted to join in the fun. So I made some cards to go with.
Honey, helping the helpless gecko.
and the helpless bird
friend to the friendless
Honey, hero to all.
And you know what? There are more bird books coming! Can’t wait!
I give this delightful parvum opus 4 paws!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I love it! Thank you, Pam. I’m not sure Honey would peck out Pedro’s eyes, but he’d definitely want to help that poor gecko. Your reviews are always unconventional, I mean, super fun. I’m glad I begged, I mean asked, for a review
Can I beg you to cross-post to GoodReads and Amazon, too? *Smooches*
